Slain Haiti presidents wife thanks guardian angels for helping her hold on

Martine Moise, the widow of slain Haitian
president Jovenal Moise, on Thursday thanked her caretakers for helping her “hold
on” as she shared the first pictures of herself since the attack where she was
seriously injured.
“Thank you for the team of guardian angels
who helped me through this terrible time. With your gentle touch, kindness and
care, I was able to hold on. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” the 47-year-old wrote
on Twitter.

In the picture, Martine can be seen on a
hospital bed with her right arm heavily bandaged. In another post written in
Creole, she said the pain of her husband’s death “will never pass”.
She was wounded in the arm and leg by the
group of attackers who stormed the heavily guarded presidential palace in the
wee hours of July 7 and shot her husband.

In a previous post on Twitter, Martine called
for her husband’s “battle” for the “stability” of Haiti to continue.
Earlier today, the Caribbean country’s
chief of police said that Jovel’s assassination was planned in the Dominican Republic.
A photo has surfaced on social media where two of the suspects, who were both
arrested later – meeting Haitian opposition senator John Joseph.

Charles said that the picture of the three was taken as they were planning the
assissination of the former president in the Dominican Republic.

“They met in a
hotel in Santo Domingo,” AFP quoted Charles as saying during an interaction with
reporters. “Around the table there are the architects of the plot, a technical
recruitment team and a finance group.”
The investigation into the assassination still
remains in mystery. “Some individuals in the photo have already been
apprehended, such as Dr. Christian Enmanuel Sanon and James Solages,” Charles
added.
