‘The poor guy’: Perez takes another jab at Mbappe for Real Madrid deal snub
- Florentino Perez said Kylian Mbappe must be feeling sorry over rejecting Real Madrid
- Mbappe snubbed Madrid after a year of signalling his intention to sign
- The snub left a bitter taste in Perez's mouth
Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, who was recently quite critical of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, has made yet another public remark about the 22-year-old’s decision to reject Los Blancos.
Perez, who met fans on Saturdays, was quizzed about the prolific Frenchman’s failed move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“The poor guy, Mbappe must already be sorry,” the Real Madrid president responded, while signing an autograph.
The 75-year-old’s comments marks the latest on what has been a rather amusing dance between Mbappe and Madrid.

After flirting with the 14-time European Champions for nearly a year, Mbappe was almost set to join Los Blancos on a free transfer this summer.
However, the 22-year-old changed his mind at the last moment, snubbing Real Madrid and signing a three-year extension with PSG. Mbappe’s decision infuriated both Perez, and the La Liga, with the league filing a complaint with UEFA on what it described as a ‘scandalous’ renewal that could threaten the economic stability of European football.

Subsequently, Perez harshly criticised Mbappe, accusing the striker of having fallen for the riches of PSG’s Qatari owners.
“His [Mbappe’s] dream was to play at Real Madrid, we wanted to do it last August and they didn’t let him leave, he kept saying he wanted to play at Madrid and like 15 days before he changed the situation,” the 75-year-old told El Chiringuito TV days ago.

“It was not easy for Mbappe to receive calls from the president of France… to tell you not to leave the club. Then go to Qatar and they offer things that drive you crazy, probably things out of proportion. This is why Kylian has changed,” Perez added.
However, Perez did not rule out buying Mbappe in future, but added a condition, saying, “Real Madrid will be always open to buy players who understand that no one is bigger than the club.”
