Watch: Man cuts palm tree while sitting on it, leaves netizens anxious

A video of a man cutting a tall palm tree while sitting on it has gone viral on social media and left millions stunned. The most interesting part of the video is the method he chose to chop down the tree.

The clip, which was shared by former American basketballer Rex Chapman on Twitter, shows a man sitting on a tall palm tree and then cutting off its top part with a chainsaw.

The video then shows the man swinging with the trunk as it swayed and bend halfway. However, he manages to maintain his balance and cling onto it.

“Ever seen anyone cut a really tall palm tree?” asked Rex Chapman captioning the video.

The video was posted on Friday and has been viewed more than 6.7 million times until now. 

While many people wondered how he finally reached the ground, some were seriously shocked.

“I want to see the rest of this. How did he get down?” commented a person.

“Raise your hand if you were expecting the guy to fly off the tree,” said another.

“It’s not just the hanging on, the guy was holding a running chainsaw too!!!” a Twitterati commented in shock.

“These trees are all over Los Angeles. There are homes in every direction. Those crowns sometimes fall and kill people. It was to be dealt with,” a Twitter user explained.

The clip has more than 20,000 retweets with nearly 90,000 likes.
