Murder of 16-year-old, Brianna Ghey, has shocked netizens around the globe. Ghey’s family has recently paid tribute to their ‘strong and fearless daughter’. Ghey was reportedly stabbed to death in Warrington Park on Saturday.

Local boy and girl, 15, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. The police investigations are still going on while the two accused are being questioned in custody.

Who was Brianna Ghey?

Brianna Ghey was a 16-year-old transgender from Birchwood in Warrington, Cheshire. She was a social media influencer with thousands of followers on social media platforms. Additionally, she was also popular for her TikTok videos.

In a dreadful murder case, Ghey was found stabbed to death in Linear Park, Culcheth. The incident reportedly happened at around 3.13 pm on Saturday after bystanders reported the stabbing.

In a statement paying tribute to their brutally murdered daughter, Ghey’s family said that the loss of her young life has left a “massive hole” in their family. The statement also adds, “Brianna was a much loved daughter, granddaughter, and baby sister”. The family also said that she was a “beautiful, witty and hilarious” person.

Ghey studied at the Birchwood Community High School. The headteacher of the school spoke on the murder, “We are shocked and truly devastated to hear of the death of Brianna”.

Even though, Ghey was known to be an out transgender, UK police has not found evidence of the attack being a hate crime. However, the investigations still continue. In another report, it was revealed that Ghey was born a boy but for the past few months, she has been living as a girl. Since she was under 18, her gender identity is still specified as ‘male’. Thus, her case is not registered under violent crimes against a woman.
