US President Joe Biden will be physically present in Virginia’s Arlington National Cemetery to honour fallen members of the American armed forces. But his mind will be stuck in Delaware’s Brandywine Cemetery, where his son and former US service member Beau Biden rests.

Joe Biden will be delivering an address on Monday to remember members of the armed forces who died serving in the armed forces of the United States.

He is also expected to mention his son Beau Biden, who died at age 46 of brain cancer. The US President’s heartache will be doubled as he will be delivering the Memorial Day address on his son’s seventh death anniversary: May 30, 2022.

A day before his Memorial Day appearance, Biden gave a deeply personal speech in his home state, Delaware.”I can not thank you enough for your continued service to the country”, he said at another memorial, Newsweek reported.

“I know how much the loss hurts… They are the guardians of us and we are the guardians of their legacy. Despite all the pain, I know the pride you feel in the loved one you have lost”, he added.

The main talking points of Biden’s speech for Monday continue to remain unclear. However, the White House released a document titled “A Proclamation: Prayer for Peace, Memorial Day 2022.”

The White House quoted Biden saying “Today and every day, we ask God to protect our troops, to shine light perpetual upon the fallen, and to bring comfort to their families. To those who mourn a loved one, and to America’s Gold Star Families who have lost a loved one in conflict, my heart aches for you.”

Biden is also expected to participate in the national moment of silence. It is observed across the country at 3 PM every Memorial Day.
