Washington Commanders will have number 21 as decals on their helmet against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday in Week 12. The team is honoring Sean Taylor, a former safety who played from 2004-2007 on the team.

Taylor was shot by intruders at his Miami area home during the 2007 season and died the next day on November 27. His death sparked a national outpouring of support and sympathy, particularly in the Washington, D.C., area, where he was a fan favorite as a Redskin.

2022 will mark the 15th anniversary of the player’s passing and hence the team will be honoring him with this gesture.
