After the US Capitol was raided by a mob on January 6 last year, Pence and Trump “sat down and talked through it”. Pence told Fox News, “We rolled our sleeves up and finished the final weeks of our administration working together.”

Pence also cleared the air about his relationship with Trump after they “parted very amicably on January 20.” He said they spoke in the months that followed “with some regularity.”
“January 6 was a tragic day, and I know we did our duty, but I will always be proud of our record”, the former Vice President told Fox News in an interview.
Mike Pence, who was present at the US Capitol when it was raided, was escorted to safety by the Secret Service. The crowd, incited by Trump, was heard chanting “Hang Mike Pence”.
Marc Short, the former chief of staff of Mike Pence, described the situation Pence was in on January 6 last year. “He knew his job was to stay at his post”, Short told CNN in a statement.

“He thought it was important that he stay there and make sure the work of the American people was completed that night,” said Short, who testified under subpoena to the committee for eight hours, but has not yet appeared as a live witness.
With the fourth public hearing scheduled on Tuesday afternoon, the January 6 committee also revealed its plans to subpoena the former Vice President for a deposition, according to Associated Press reports.
