World Autism Day is celebrated on April 2 every year across the world to spread awareness about Autism, which is a serious developmental disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate.
The day’s main aim is to create an atmosphere of kindliness and warmth for people suffering from Autism. It also inspires people to accept and understand people going through developmental disorder.
History behind the day:
Back in 2008, the Rights of persons with disabilities convention came into existence and made sure that all persons are treated equally, including those who are suffering from disabilities. The United Nations General Assembly then passed April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day, which would inspire people to help and be kind to those people who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The convention was brought so that all people could live their lives according to their own personal choices and would not need other people’s intervention. It kept in front of people that the basic human rights for all is a must.

Significance of the day:
The day was brought into existence so that all people including those with Autism could live a normal life and get past their disorder.
The day was also introduced so that the quality of life for people with ASD could be improved, which could create an environment where they could happily live as they want to, leading them to have a better life and enhancing their contribution to society.
