Rohit Sharma included in Test squad; BCCI grants Virat Kohli paternity leave

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, announced that the All-India Selection Committee decided to grant paternity leave to team India captain Virat Kohli following the first Test in Adelaide, as per ANI report.
The BCCI further announced a slew of replacements for India’s tour of Australia. Explosive Indian opener Rohit Sharma who had earlier been rested for the Australia series, has now been included in the Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
It added that the decision to include Rohit Sharma was made in consultation with the Mumbai Indian captain, and said that Sharma would be rested for the One Day International and T-20 format in Australia and would only play in the Border Gavaskar trophy.
The selection committee also added Kerala born wicket-keeper batsman to the One Day International squad as an additional wicket-keeper.
The BCCI added that ace pacer Ishant Sharma who is currently in rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru would also be added to the Test squad following his full recovery. The selection committee further announced that leg spinner Varun Chakravarthy, was ruled out of the T20 series with a shoulder injury and named Tamil Nadu cricketer T. Natarajan as his replacement.
The committee added that it would take a call on the availability of Bengal cricketer Wriddhiman Saha, who sustained hamstring injuries during his IPL match for Sunrisers Hyderabad, at a later date.
It also stated that medium pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti who was included in the squad as reserve bowler wouldn’t travel to Australia as he was working with a medical team on his bowling workload management.
