With a height of 141 metres, Indian Railways is building the world’s tallest railway bridge pier at Noney Valley in the state of Manipur. The ambitious 111-kilometer Jiribam-Imphal railway line, which intends to connect Manipur’s capital with the country’s wide gauge network, will reduce travel time from 10 to 12 hours to just 2.5 hours. According to an ANI report, the bridge in Noney Valley, which is being built with a pier height of 141 metres, would break the existing record of 139 metres set by the Mala – Rijeka viaduct in Montenegro, Europe.
