Indian equity benchmarks ended higher on Monday with the Sensex gaining 234.79 or 0.39% higher to close at 61,185.15 points. The Nifty rose 85.65 points or 0.47% to settle at 18,202.80.

The broader indices ended green the BSE MidCap index gaining 0.69% and the SmallCap index up by 0.64%. The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were Auto up by 1.23%, Oil and Gas 1.23%, Realty 1.11%, Energy 1.06%, and Metal 0.98%, while Healthcare down by 1.00%, Consumer Durables 0.41% were the losing sectoral indices on BSE.

Bank of Baroda: The stock ended 9.55% higher at Rs 158.35 on the BSE after the lender reported a net profit of Rs 3,313 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, a 58.7% year-on-year rise against Rs 2,087.85 crore in the year-ago quarter. The net interest income (NNI) of the bank jumped 34.5% to Rs 10,174.546 crore during the quarter. Non-performing assets were 22.06% down to Rs 46,364.4 crore against Rs 59,503.82 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Britannia Industries: The stock ended 8.97% higher at Rs 4,142.20 on the BSE after the company reported a 28% year-on-year jump in net profit at Rs 490.58 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, against Rs 381.8 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from operations was reported at Rs 4,379.61 crore, 21% higher year-on-year against Rs 3,607.37 crore in the year-ago quarter.

State Bank of India: The stock ended 3.44% higher at Rs 614.20 on the BSE after the bank reported a net profit of Rs 13,265 for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, 73.65% higher than the year-ago quarter. The net interest income (NII) of the bank stood at Rs 35,183 crore against Rs 31,184 crore, improving 12.83% year-on-year.

Divi’s Laboratories Ltd: The stock ended 8.85% lower at Rs 3,413.70 on the BSE after the company reported an 18.61% decline in net profit at Rs 493.60 in the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, against Rs 606.46 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from operation was reported at Rs 1854.54 crore, a decline of 6.7% year-on-year.

Marico Ltd: The stock ended 6.39% lower at Rs 504.90 on the BSE after the firm reported a net profit of Rs 307 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, a decline of 2.84% against the year-ago period.
