Gold prices rose modestly in early trade on Friday, defying the global trend, although the gain was limited by high US Treasury rates and a stronger dollar. Meanwhile, the yellow metal was poised for its first weekly loss in three weeks.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Friday, April 22, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 52,540.00 per 10 gm, up 127 points or 0.24%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 67,137.00 per kg, up 12 points or 0.02%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,952.69 per oz while Silver is priced at $24.57. Platinum was trading at $967.45 while palladium was trading at $2,432.09. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 51,280 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 67,330 per kg on Thursday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 817.50 up 0.29% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 531.00 and Rs 272.55 per Kg respectively on MCX. 

In New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being bought and sold at Rs 49,300, as per the Good Returns website. Whereas in Chennai, the same amount of the precious yellow metal is being traded at Rs 49,460.

The 24-carat gold rates, 10 grams of it in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Kolkata is being vented at Rs 53,780. The same amount of the 24-carat purity in Chennai is being retailed for Rs 53,960.

In Nagpur and Coimbatore, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 49,360 and Rs 49,460 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being vented at Rs 53,840 in Nagpur and Rs 53,960 in Coimbatore.

In Mysore, Vijayawada and Bhubaneswar 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being obtained at a price of Rs 49,300. Even in regions including Kerala, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is also being sold at Rs 49,300. However, 10 grams of 24-carat gold in all the above areas is being procured at Rs 53,780.

In Jaipur and Chandigarh, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being traded at Rs 49,450, today. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is rated at Rs 53,930 in both cities.

In Vadodara and Surat, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 49,360 and Rs 49,350 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being traded at Rs 53,840 in Vadodara and Rs 53,830 in Surat.
