Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Friday, February 11, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 48,712.00 per 10 gm, down 243 points or 0.5%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 62,365.00 per kg, down 901 points or 1.42%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,823.70 per oz. Platinum was trading at $1,022.00 while palladium was trading at $2,219.00. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 477,30 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 62,825 per kg on Thursday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

In Delhi and Mumbai, 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 49,970, according to the Goodreturns website. The price for 22 carats is Rs 45,800 in both cities.

In Kolkata and Chennai, 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 49,970 and Rs 50,200. The price for 22 carats is Rs 46,010 in Chennai and Rs 45,800 in Kolkata.

In Chennai, the price of 1 kg of silver is Rs 66,800. In Delhi and Mumbai, the price is Rs 62,700. Silver is selling at Rs 62,700 per kg in Kolkata.

Gold has struggled in 2021 after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened in hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 772.65 down 1.62% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1,778.90 and Rs 256.15 per Kg respectively on MCX.
