Gold rose on Friday as the dollar fell slightly from two-decade highs, but it was on track for its worst weekly decrease in more than a month as the strong dollar weighed on demand.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Friday, July 8, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,696.00 per ten gm, up 75 points or 0.15%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 56,925.00 per kg, down 14 points or 0.02%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,741.38 per oz while Silver is priced at $19.17. Platinum was trading at $874.55 while palladium was trading at $2,003.18. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,660 per Ten grams while silver was priced at Rs 56,881 per kg on Thursday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 656.80 down 1.21% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 492.00 and Rs 210.10 per Kg respectively on MCX. 

Ten grams of 22-carat yellow metal are being exchanged for Rs 46,850 in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, according to the Good Returns website. The same amount of gold is being sold in Chennai for Rs 46,720.

Ten grams of 24-carat gold is being sold for Rs 51,110 in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. In Chennai, the same quantity of gold costs Rs 50,970.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,900 and Rs 47,000 in Ahmedabad and Chandigarh, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 51,160 and Rs 51,260, respectively.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,000 in cities like Jaipur and Lucknow. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is sold for Rs 51,260.

Ten grams of the in-demand metal in 22-carat purity costs Rs 46,870 in Pune and Patna, while the same quantity in 24-carat purity costs Rs 51,140 in both cities.

In Coimbatore, Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,720, whereas, in Kerala, it costs Rs 46,850. In Coimbatore and Kerala, however, Ten grams of 24-carat yellow gold can be purchased for Rs 50,970 and Rs 51,110 respectively.
