Gold prices fell to new two-week lows on Monday, as the Fed’s aggressively hawkish stance on tightening monetary policy continued to weigh on the bullion’s sentiments.

With a half-percentage-point interest rate rise expected at the Fed’s May meeting firmly locked in, speculators jumped into bets on Friday that the US central bank will go much bigger in the months ahead.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Monday, April 25, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 51,880.00 per 10 gm, down 381 points or 73%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 65,360.00 per kg, down 1186 points or 1.78%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,914.96 per oz while Silver is priced at $23.72. Platinum was trading at $925.08 while palladium was trading at $2,300.18.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 51,220 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 66,685 per kg on Friday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 798.00 down 1.29% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 500.30 and Rs 262.95 per Kg respectively on MCX.

The ten grams of 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 48,990 in New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, as per the Good Returns website. In Chennai, 10 grams of the 22-carat gold is being traded at Rs 49,280.

The 24-carat gold, 10 grams of yellow metal is being sold at Rs 53,440 in New Delhi and Kolkata. The same amount of 24-carat purity is being traded for Rs 53,760 in Chennai and Rs 53,580 in Mumbai.

In Madurai and Patna, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being bought and sold at Rs 49,280 and Rs 49,030 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being purchased at Rs 53,760 in Madurai and Rs 53,490 in Patna.

In Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kerala, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being procured at Rs 48,990. In cities like Mysore, Mangalore, and Vijayawada, the same quantity of 22-carat purity is being sold at Rs 48,990. Ten grams of 24-carat gold in all the above areas is priced at Rs 53,440, today.

In Jaipur and Nagpur, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 49,130 and Rs 49,030 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 53,580 in Jaipur and Rs 53,480 in Nagpur.
