Gold prices remained steady on Monday as a result of an improving US job market, which has fuelled expectations of a speedier rate hike by the US Federal Reserve. The dollar and US benchmark rates were solid, countering support from safe-haven demand fueled by the deepening Ukraine crisis.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Monday, April 4, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 51,228.00 per 10 gm, down 116 points or 0.23%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 66,902.00 per kg, up 169 points or 0.25%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,920.07 per oz. Platinum was trading at $987.00 while palladium was trading at $2,306.69.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 50,400 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 66,889 per kg on Friday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 814.00 down 0.27% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 434.70 and Rs 281.90 per Kg respectively on MCX.

In Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 47,800, as per the Good Returns website. The same quantity of the precious yellow metal is being traded at Rs 48,030 in Chennai.

In Pune and Jaipur, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being vented at Rs 47,850 and Rs 47,950, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 52,190 in Pune and Rs 52,290 in Jaipur.

In Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kerala, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 47,800. While, in Vijayawada, Mysore and Visakhapatnam, the same quantity of 22-carat purity is also valued at Rs 47,800. However, 10 grams of 24-carat gold in all the above areas is being traded at Rs 52,140.

In Patna and Chandigarh, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 47,850 and Rs 47,950, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 52,190 in Patna and Rs 52,290 in Chandigarh.
