Gold prices in India defied the global trend and were trading
higher amid a hike in import duty and support from weakening treasury yields.
However, a strong US dollar capped yellow metal’s appeal. The dollar was close
to latest two-decade highs, continuing to make gold less attractive for buyers
holding other currencies.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased
marginally on Monday, July 4, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 52,110.00
per 10 gm, up 193 points or 0.37%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were
trading at Rs 58,426.00 per kg, up 251.00 points or 0.43%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,808.53 per oz
while Silver is priced at $19.90. Platinum was trading at $888.50 while
palladium was trading at $1,958.50.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 50,550
per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 57,773 per kg on Friday according to
the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 673.35 down 0.84% while
Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 446.50 and Rs 210.95 per
Kg respectively on MCX.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 48,000 in Mumbai,
Kolkata, and New Delhi, according to the Good Returns website. The same
quantity of yellow metal is being traded-in Chennai for Rs 47,920.

The price of ten grams of 24-carat gold in New Delhi and
Mumbai is Rs 52,340. The same amount is worth Rs 52,280 in Chennai.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 48,080 and Rs 48,050 in
Ahmedabad and Patna, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity is worth
Rs 52,500 in Ahmedabad and Rs 52,390 in Patna.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 48,000 in Hyderabad and
Kerala. The same quantity may be purchased in Bengaluru, Mangalore and Mysore
for Rs 48,050. Moreover, ten grams of 24-carat gold in all the above areas are
being purchased at Rs 52,420.

In Coimbatore and Jaipur, ten grams of 22-carat gold are
being traded at Rs 47,920 and Rs 48,150, respectively. The same amount of
24-carat purity is being purchased at Rs 52,280 in Coimbatore and Rs 52,490 in Jaipur.

In Pune and Chandigarh, ten grams of 22-carat gold are
being traded at Rs 48,050 and Rs 48,150, respectively. The same quantity of
24-carat purity is being bought and sold at Rs 52,390 in Pune and Rs 52,490 in
Chandigarh.
