Gold prices rose slightly on Monday, rebounding from recent lows, even as the US dollar remained steady.

The dollar began the week barely off a 20-year high versus rivals as investors sought shelter owing to concerns about global growth, making rival safe-haven gold less appealing to purchasers holding other currencies.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Monday, May 16, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 49,974.00 per 10 gm, up 101 points or 0.2%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 59,567.00 per kg, up 235 points or 0.40%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,806.79 per oz while Silver is priced at $20.98. Platinum was trading at $939.38 while palladium was trading at $1,945.34.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,250 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 59,106 per kg on Friday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 755.35 up 0.32% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 607.20 and Rs 237.75 per Kg respectively on MCX.

The ten grams of 22-carat gold are being procured at Rs 46,250 in Kolkata, New Delhi, and Mumbai, according to the Good Returns website. The same quantity of the precious yellow metal is being bought in Chennai at Rs 47,370.

The 24-carat gold rate, 10 grams of the metal is being obtained at Rs 50,450 in New Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The same amount of 24-carat purity is being traded at Rs 51,670 in Chennai.

In Pune and Jaipur, 10 grams of 22-carat gold are being sold at Rs 46,320 and Rs 46,410 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is valued at Rs 50,520 in Pune and Rs 50,610 in Jaipur.

In Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kerala, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being acquired at Rs 46,250. Similarly, in Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, and Bhubaneswar, the same amount of 22-carat purity is being sold at Rs 46,250. Moreover, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 50,450 in all the above areas.

In Nashik and Surat, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 46,320 and Rs 46,300 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 50,520 in Nashik and Rs 50,500 in Surat.

In Coimbatore and Chandigarh, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 47,370 and Rs 46,410. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being traded at Rs 51,670 in Coimbatore and Rs 50,610 in Chandigarh.
