Gold prices fell on Thursday, owing to a recovery in US treasury yields, which dampened metal demand expectations.

Bond yields in the United States have risen on predictions that the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates aggressively as inflation surges at its highest rate in 40 years.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 52,597.00 per 10 gm, down 31 points or 0.06%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 68,240.00 per kg, down 166 points or 0.24%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,950.58 per oz while Silver is priced at $25.01. Platinum was trading at $981.04 while palladium was trading at $2,432.48. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 51,490 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 68,590 per kg on Wednesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 813.25 down 0.34% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 519.70 and Rs 268.75 per Kg respectively on MCX. 

The ten grams of 22-carat gold in New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai is being sold at Rs 49,150, as per the Good Returns website. The same quantity of the precious yellow metal is being procured at Rs 49,630 in Chennai.

The 24-carat gold rate, 10 grams of it in New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai is being traded at Rs 53,620. Whereas in Chennai, the same amount of 24-carat purity is being retailed at Rs 54,140.

In Pune and Ahmedabad, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 49,180 and Rs 49,200 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being acquired at Rs 53,650 in Pune and Rs 53,670 in Ahmedabad.

In Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kerala, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being bought at a price of Rs 49,150. Likewise, in Bhubaneswar, Mangalore and Visakhapatnam, the same amount of 22-carat purity is also being sold at Rs 49,150. However, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is being vented at Rs 53,620 in all the above areas.

In Patna and Jaipur, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being acquired at Rs 49,180 and Rs 49,300 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is further priced at Rs 53,650 in Patna and Rs 53,770 in Jaipur.

In Coimbatore and Chandigarh, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being traded at Rs 49,630 and Rs 49,300 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being traded at Rs 54,140 in Coimbatore and Rs 53,770 in Chandigarh.
