Gold rates tumbled on Thursday ahead of rate hike prospects by major central banks. Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 49,854.00 per 10 gm, down 371 points or 0.74%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 54,811.00 per kg, down 808 points or 1.45%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,690.04 per oz while Silver is priced at $18.55. Platinum was trading at $852.90 while palladium was trading at $1,869.31. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,340 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 55,367 per kg on Wednesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 622.20 down 0.86% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 615.90 and Rs 208.80 per Kg respectively on MCX. 

Ten grams of 22-carat gold is exchanged for Rs 46,400 in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, according to the Good Returns website. In Chennai, the same amount of yellow metal is traded for Rs 46,670.

The 24-carat gold prices, ten grams of it costs Rs 50,620 in Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi, while the same amount costs Rs 50,920 in Chennai.

In cities such as Lucknow and Coimbatore, ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,550 and Rs 46,670, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is sold in Lucknow for Rs 50,770 and in Coimbatore for Rs 50,920.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,400 in Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Kerala. The same quantity of 22-carat purity can be acquired for Rs 46,450 in Bengaluru, Mangalore, and Mysore.

However, ten grams of 24-carat gold costs Rs 50,620 in Hyderabad, Kerala, and Vijayawada, while it costs around Rs 50,670 in Bengaluru, Mangalore, and Mysore.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,420 and Rs 46,550 in Surat and Chandigarh, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 50,650 in Surat and Rs 50,770 in Chandigarh.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold can be purchased in Nashik and Madurai for Rs 46,480 and Rs 46,670, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity is available for Rs 50,700 in Nashik and Rs 50,920 in Madurai.
