Gold prices rose slightly on Thursday as the US dollar fell slightly. The US central bank’s widely anticipated interest rate rise sent the dollar plunging.

The US Federal Reserve approved a 75-basis-point interest rate rise on Wednesday, its highest in more than 28 years, to combat rising prices and signal a weakening economy.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,620.00 per 150 gm, up 182 points or 0.36%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 60,893.00 per kg, up 196 points or 0.32%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,831.79 per oz while Silver is priced at $21.63. Platinum was trading at $935.83 while palladium was trading at $1,858.05.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,730 per 150 grams while silver was priced at Rs 60,750 per kg on Wednesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 756.35 up 0.11% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 589.20 and Rs 221.30 per Kg respectively on MCX.

As per the Good Returns website, ten grams of 22-carat gold is being traded-in Mumbai and Kolkata at Rs 47,150. The same quantity of gold is being traded at Rs 47,200 in Chennai and Rs 47,170 in New Delhi.

The 24-carat gold rate, ten grams of the precious yellow metal in New Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai is priced at Rs 51,440. In Chennai, the same quantity is valued at Rs 51,500.

In Ahmedabad and Patna, ten grams of 22-carat gold are being purchased at Rs 47,190 and Rs 47,220, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is valued at Rs 51,460 in Ahmedabad and Rs 51,5ten in Patna.

In Kerala and Hyderabad, ten grams of 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 47,150 and in Bengaluru, the same amount is being traded at Rs 47,170. In Mangalore, Mysore and Bhubaneswar, the same amount of 22-carat purity is also being traded at the price of Rs 47,170.  However, ten grams of 24-carat gold in all the above areas are being purchased at Rs 51,440.

In Coimbatore and Jaipur, ten grams of 22-carat gold are being traded at Rs 47,200 and Rs 47,330, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 51,550 in Coimbatore and Rs 51,590 in Jaipur.

In Pune and Chandigarh, ten grams of 22-carat gold are being traded at Rs 47,220 and Rs 47,330 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being bought and sold at Rs 51,5ten in Pune and Rs 51,590 in Chandigarh.
