Gold prices hit a new nine-month low on Tuesday, as the US
dollar at a 20-year high stifled demand for bullion, but a slight recovery in
the euro against the greenback limited further losses.

The dollar traded near a fresh 20-year high touched on
Monday, making gold more expensive for buyers holding other currencies. Gold
prices slipped to their lower level since September 20 of $1,730.42 per ounce
