Gold prices fell slightly on Tuesday due to a strong dollar. The yellow metal, however, remained range bound as investors refrained from placing significant bets on the outcome of the Fed meeting. 

Market investors now expect the Fed to raise interest rates by 75 basis points at its July 26-27 meeting. The European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan will meet on Thursday, with the ECB largely expected to raise interest rates by 25 basis points.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,250.00 per 10 gm, down 111 points or 0.22%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 55,659.00 per kg, down 432 points or 0.77%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,709.16 per oz while Silver is priced at $18.70. Platinum was trading at $860.42 while palladium was trading at $1,882.03.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,450 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 55,614 per kg on Monday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 623.45 down 1.19% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 593.40 and Rs 209.65 per Kg respectively on MCX.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold are being purchased and sold at Rs 46,190 in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Kolkata, according to the Good Returns website. In Chennai, the same amount of valuable yellow metal can be purchased for Rs 46,880.

The 24-carat gold prices, ten grams of this in-demand metal costs Rs 50,390 in Kolkata, New Delhi, and Mumbai. The same quantity is being marketed in Chennai for Rs 51,140.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold is worth Rs 46,270 and Rs 46,340 in Nagpur and Surat, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity costs Rs 50,470 in Nagpur and Rs 50,440 in Surat.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,190 in Bhubaneshwar, Kerala, and Hyderabad. The same amount is worth Rs 46,290 in Bengaluru, Mysore, and Mangalore. Ten grams of 24-carat gold cost Rs 50,390 in Kerala, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneshwar.

The same quantity of 24-carat gold may be purchased for Rs 50,100 in Bengaluru, Mysore, and Mangalore.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 46,880 and Rs 46,340 in Madurai and Lucknow, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 51,140 in Madurai and Rs 50,550 in Lucknow.
