Gold prices increased in international markets on March 22, levelling out following a tumultuous session, as investors reviewed the Fed’s quarter-point increase in its benchmark rate, which it had kept near zero since the global crisis struck two years ago and circumstances surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and sanctions imposed on Moscow.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 51,887.00 per 10 gm, up 232 points or 0.45%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 69,023.00 per kg, up 674 points or 0.99%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,937.62 per oz. Platinum was trading at $1,041.16 while palladium was trading at $2,582.69.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 50,230 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 67,687 per kg on Monday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 816.40 up 0.25% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 2,230.00 and Rs 283.05 per Kg respectively on MCX.

The 24-carat gold rates, 10 grams of it in Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata is valued at Rs 51,700. In Chennai, the same quantity of 24-carat purity is being traded at Rs 52,290.

In cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kerala, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 47,400. Similarly, in Mysore, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, the same quantity of 22-carat purity is also being traded at Rs 47,400. Ten grams of 24-carat gold in the above areas is being obtained at Rs 51,700.

In Jaipur, Patna and Coimbatore, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 47,550, Rs 47,500 and Rs 47,930, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being purchased at Rs 51,850 in Jaipur, Rs 51,800 in Patna and Rs 52,290 in Coimbatore.

In Chandigarh, Surat and Nagpur, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 47,550, Rs 47,450 and Rs 47,480, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity is being traded at Rs 51,850 in Chandigarh, Rs 51,750 in Surat and Rs 51,780 in Nagpur.
