Gold prices were slightly lower on Tuesday as a result of higher bond rates and a stronger US dollar, which weakened the bullion’s attractiveness. The yellow metal is on track for a second consecutive monthly loss.

Climbing US 10-year treasury rates make zero-yield gold less appealing, while a stronger currency makes the greenback-priced metal more costly for foreign purchasers.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 51,143.00 per 10 gm, up 228 points or 0.45%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 61,751.00 per kg, down 131 points or 0.21%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,852.91 per oz while Silver is priced at $21.83. Platinum was trading at $961.00 while palladium was trading at $2,089.54. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,960 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 62,073 per kg on Monday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 783.90 up 0.36% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 680.40 and Rs 243.90 per Kg respectively on MCX. 

According to the Good Returns website, 10 grams of 22-carat gold can be purchased and sold for Rs 47,860 in Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi. The same amount of valuable yellow gold is being traded-in Chennai for Rs 47,960.

The price of grams of 24-carat gold in Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi is Rs 52,210. In Chennai, the same quantity of 24-carat purity costs Rs 52,320.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,910 and Rs 48,010 in Pune and Jaipur, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 52,250 in Pune and Rs 52,360 in Jaipur.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold have hit Rs 47,860 in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kerala. The same quantity of 22-carat purity can be acquired for Rs 47,860 in Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, and Mangalore. Ten grams of 24-carat gold costs Rs 52,210 in all of the aforesaid locations.
