Gold prices fell on Wednesday as the dollar remained at its highest level in almost two years, putting downward pressure on demand for greenback-priced gold.

Concerns over China’s weakening growth and anticipation that the Federal Reserve will rapidly increase rates spurred demand for the dollar, which stayed steady after surging to its highest level since March 2020 on Tuesday.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 51,485.00 per 10 gm, down 99 points or 0.19%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 64,997.00 per kg, up 29 points or 0.04%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,899.37 per oz while Silver is priced at $23.56. Platinum was trading at $921.00 while palladium was trading at $2,201.75.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 50,750 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 65,597 per kg on Tuesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 793.30 up 0.41% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 543.00 and Rs 257.25 per Kg respectively on MCX.

The ten grams of 22-carat gold in Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai is being sold at Rs 48,440, today, according to the Good Returns website. The same quantity of the much in demand metal is being obtained at Rs 48,800 in Chennai.

The 24-carat gold rate, 10 grams of the metal is being traded at Rs 52,850 in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Kolkata. The same amount of 24-carat purity is being retailed at Rs 52,240 in Chennai.

In Patna and Surat, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 48,490 and Rs 48,520 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is valued at Rs 52,900 in Patna and Rs 52,930 in Surat.

In Jaipur and Chandigarh, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 48,590. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being traded at Rs 53,000 in Jaipur and Chandigarh.

In Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kerala, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being bought and sold at Rs 48,440. Similarly, in Mysore, Visakhapatnam and Mangalore, 22-carat purity of the metal is being purchased at Rs 48,440. Ten grams of 24-carat gold is valued at Rs 52,850 in all the above areas.

In Coimbatore and Nagpur, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is valued at Rs 48,800 and Rs 48,490 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 53,240 in Coimbatore and Rs 52,900 in Nagpur.
