In a rough session on January 13, the benchmark ended
with marginal gains. The metal and pharma stocks were on fire today. The BSE
Sensex ended 85.26 points or 0.14% higher at 61,235.30 and the Nifty closed at
18,257.80 with 45.50 points or 0.25% gains.

Metal Stocks were highest gainers among the sectoral indices
on the NSE. Jindal Steel and Power closed 5.46 % higher, Tata Steel jumped
6.26%, JSW Steel jumped 4.32% higher, Coal India gained 3.26% and NMDC closed
3.26%.

Here are key stocks that moved most during today’s
trading session:

Infosys: The stock closed 0.95% higher after Infosys
reported a 7.2% quarter-on-quarter rise in its consolidated net profit for the
quarter ended December 2021 to Rs 5,809 crore. With strong Q3 performance,
several brokerage firms raised their target prices on the company’s stock.

Wipro: The IT stock ended 5.97% lower and was the top
loser on Nifty50. This was after Wipro’s December Quarter results failed to met
the industry expectations and this could result in a sharp sell-off in the
stock going ahead.

Tata Consultancy Services: TCS shares closed 0.99% higher
after the IT company reported high quarter three earnings and announced a
buyback of equity of Rs 18,000 crore.

TVS Motor Company: TVS shares closed at Rs 659.50 with
4.70 points or 0.72% rise on January 13. TVS announced a strategic partnership
with delivery platform Swiggy to strengthen the electrification across diverse mobility segments and
support Swiggy’s efforts to adopt EVs in its delivery fleet.

Tata Motors: The shares
rose nearly 1% and closed at Rs 512.55 on January 13 even after its wholly-owned
subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reported weak sales numbers for the quarter
ended December 2021. According to company’s statement in the press, the retail
sales for the quarter ending December 31, 2021 were 80,126 vehicles, down by 13.6% from the previous quarter ending September 31, 2021 and 37.6% down from the same quarter previous year ending December 31, 2020.

Polycab India: Polycab shares closed 8.43% higher and
were among the best gainers on Nifty 500.
