Retailers must get in touch with Anheuser-Busch InBev if they want to distribute the brand outside of the US, and distributors must do the same within of the US.

Grupo Modelo, which also makes Corona, founded Modelo in 1925 in Tacuba, Mexico.

Modelo was one of the beers that benefited from the fact that South America could distribute alcoholic beverages during Prohibition while North America couldn’t.

Modelo has also introduced its own flavored beverage called Agua Frescas, similar to many other beer brands. Even Modelo has products that may be purchased from participating retailers like Walmart.
