In the industry’s first AR (Augmented Reality) launch event, OnePlus introduced its first affordable smartphone “Nord” on Tuesday evening. Introducing the product, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said that “Nord hasn’t compromised on the standards despite the affordable pricing”. He also said that the phone is “as smooth as its flagship devices and it brings the company back to its roots”.

The price of the latest smartphone was revealed by Amazon India during the launch.  According to Amazon, the OnePlus Nord starts at Rs 24,999.

The phone comes with six cameras at the back and two on the front. The product is available in two colours- Blue Marble and Gray Onyx. Similar to the OnePlus8 series, Nord comes with 5G support. It also supports Warp Charge 30T that can refill its 4100 mAh battery from empty to 70% in just 30 mins.  It runs Android 10 based on OxygenOS 10.5.

The phone has a 6.44-inch AMOLED display that offers a 90hz refresh rate. The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 support on the front as well as back acts as a protection against scratches and cracks. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage.

Pei also launched OnePlus Buds, the company’s first truly wireless earbuds. The earbuds claim to have a battery life of seven hours of battery life on a single charge.
