The BSE Sensex closed 364.91 points or 0.67% lower at 54,470.67. The NSE Nifty tanked 109.40 points or 0.67% to finish at 16,301.85. Oil & gas, FMCG, realty, power, metal and PSU Bank indices fell 1-2%. BSE midcap and smallcap indices fell nearly 2% each.

Campus Activewear: Shares of the company ended the first day of trading at 372.75, a 27.7% gain over the issue price. The stock of the sports and athleisure footwear company is listed on BE at Rs 355 per share, a premium of 21.6% over the upper end of its issue price range of 278-292 per share.

Reliance Industries: The stock fell 3.97% to close at Rs 2,517 amid overall weakness in the market following the global sell-off. RIL on May 6 reported a 22.5% YoY rise in its consolidated net profit. Consolidated revenue from operations surged 36.8% YoY to Rs 2.1 lakh crore. The company’s board also recommended a dividend of Rs 8 per share for the financial year ended March 2022.

Tata Power: Shares of the Tata Group Company settled 6.22% lower at Rs 229.95 after the Global brokerage CLSA has given a ‘sell’ call for the stock, with a target price of Rs 212 per share. The brokerage cited weak performance by the coal business division which again had a dismal quarter rocked by regulations and weather. However, domestic brokerages like Elara Capital and Sharekhan are positive about the stock and have given a ‘buy’ rating with target prices of Rs 258 and Rs 297, respectively.

UPL: Shares of the chemical company closed 1.30% down at Rs 776.65 after it said that the supply chain is disrupted globally. The company remains positive but also cautious about business prospects in the short term.

HCL Technologies: Shares of the technology company settled 3.11% higher at Rs 1,082.90 after the company said that its wholly-owned subsidiary, HCL Technologies UK, will acquire Confinale AG, a Switzerland-based digital banking and wealth management consulting specialist and Avaloq Premium Implementation Partner.
