Sensex touched high and low of 53,865.93 and 52,054.30, respectively. There were 11 stocks advancing against 19 stock declining on the index.
Nifty traded in a range of 16,025.75 and 15,785.45. There were 22 stocks advancing against 26 stocks declining, while 2 stocks remain unchanged on the index.
The broader indices ended mixed as the BSE Mid cap index fell 0.35% and the Small cap index was up by 0.20%. On the sectoral front, Power was up by 0.64%, Utilities was up by 0.59%, Metal was up by 0.47%, Healthcare was up by 0.23% and Energy was up by 0.16%, while IT down by 0.59%, TECK down by 0.57%, Bankex down by 0.37%, Auto down by 0.32% and Realty down by 0.29% were the top losing indices on BSE.
The top gainers on the Sensex were Power Grid Corporation up by 1.54%, Bajaj Finserv up by 1.34%, Hindustan Unilever up by 0.92%, Sun Pharma up by 0.90% and Reliance Industries up by 0.80%. On the other hand, ITC down by 1.73%, Wipro down by 1.58%, Mahindra & Mahindra down by 1.20%, Larsen & Toubro down by 1.12% and Maruti Suzuki down by 1.10% were the top losers.
The top gainers on Nifty were Shree Cement up by 1.72%, Power Grid Corporation up by 1.42%, Bajaj Finserv up by 1.24%, Hindustan Unilever up by 1.13% and Apollo Hospital up by 1.11%. On the other hand, ITC down by 1.76%, HDFC Life Insurance down by 1.81%, Wipro down by 1.45%, Maruti Suzuki down by 1.23% and Britannia Industries down by 1.09% were the top losers.
Akshar Spintex Limited, Automotive Axles Limited, Choice International Limited, Edelweiss Mutual Fund - BHARAT Bond ETF - April 2031 and Fiem Industries Limited have hit a 52-week high on Tuesday.
Anjani Portland Cement Limited, Apollo Pipes Limited, ARSS Infrastructure Projects Limited, Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited and ICICI Prudential Nifty 5 Yr Benchmark G-SEC ETF have made fresh 52 week low on Tuesday.
Kilitch Drugs (India) Limited, Madhav Marbles and Granites Limited, Stel Holdings Limited, PTC India Financial Services Limited and AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited were the top volume gainers.
63MOONS, A2ZINFRA, ADROITINFO, AGRITECH and AGROPHOS hit the upper price band while ALPSINDUS, ANDHRACEMT, ANTGRAPHIC, BCONCEPTS and DBSTOCKBRO hit the lower price band. There were 108 securities that hit the upper band while 50 hit the lower band on July 5, 2022.
