The Sensex rose 203.01 points or 0.34% to 59,959.85 while the Nifty was up by 49.85 points or 0.28% to close at 17,786.80 at the end of Friday’s trading session.

The Sensex moved in a high and low band of 60,133.17 and 59,739.05. On the index, 19 stocks advanced and 11 stocks declined.

The Nifty traded in the high-low range of 17,838.90 and 17,723.70. On the index, 30 stocks advanced, 19 stocks declined and 1 stock remained stable.

The broader indices ended mixed with the BSE MidCap index down by 0.41% while the SmallCap index was down by 0.62%. The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were Auto by 1.66%, Energy by 1.20%, Oil and Gas by 0.76%, Consumer Discretionary by 0.32% and Consumer Durables by 0.25%. While Metal down by 1.44%,  Commodities by 1.08%, IT by 0.76%, Bankex by 0.72% and Telecommunication by 0.55% were the top losing sectoral indices on the BSE.

The top gainers on the Sensex were Maruti Suzuki up by 4.95%, Reliance Industries 3.10%, NTPC 2.08%, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.40%, and Bajaj Finserv 1.35%. While the top losers on the index were Tata Steel down by 2.54%, Tech Mahindra 2.53%, Sun Pharma 2.16%, ICICI Bank 1.76%, and SBI 1.52%.

The top gainers on the Nifty were Maruti Suzuki by 5.60%, Reliance Industries by 3.09%, Apollo Hospital Ent. by 2.96%, NTPC by 2.08% and Hero Motocorp by 1.55%.  While the top losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.52%, Tata Steel by 2.45%, Sun Pharma Industries by 2.24%, Grasim Industries by 2.23% and Divi’s Lab by 2.06%.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Indian Bank, IIFL Finance Limited, Bharti Airtel Limited and Canara Bank hit their 52-week high on Friday.

Tracxn Technologies Limited, FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited, Shilpa Medicare Limited, and Dhampur Sugar Mills Limited touched a 52-week low on Friday.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Tata Motors Limited, HDFC Limited, Reliance Industries Limited and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the most active equities on NSE.

The top volume gainers were Dhanuka Agritech Limited, United Polyfab Gujarat Limited, Art Nirman Limited, Infibeam Avenues Limited, and Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd.

Infibeam Avenues Limited, Jindal Worldwide Limited, Kerbs Biochemicals and Industries Limited, Tainwala Chemical and Plastic (I) Limited and Wealth First Portfolio Managers Limited hit their upper price band.

DC Infotech and Communication Limited, Tips Films Limited, Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Limited, Antarctica Limited, and Aurum PropTech Limited, hit their lower price band. A total of 60 securities hit the upper price band, 41 securities hit the lower band while 20 securities hit both the upper and lower bands on October 28,2022.
