The Sensex rose 786.74 points or 1.31% to 60,746.59 while the Nifty was up by 225.40 points or 1.27% to close at 18,012.20 at the end of Monday’s trading session.
The Sensex moved in a high and low band of 60,786.70 and 60,246.96. A total of 26 stocks advanced, 3 declined and 1 was stable on the index.
The Nifty traded in the high-low range of 18,022.80 and 17,899.90. On the index, 44 stocks advanced and 6 stocks declined.

The broader indices ended green with the BSE MidCap index up by 1.24% while the SmallCap index was up by 0.45%. The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were Auto by 1.57%, Capital Goods by 1.54%, TECK by 1.45%, Industrials by 1.43% and Consumer Durables by 1.41%. While there were no losing sectoral indices on the BSE.
The top gainers on the Sensex were Ultratech Cement up by 4.18%, HDFC Ltd 2.89%, Mahindra & Mahindra 2.70%, Sun Pharma 2.65%, HDFC Bank 2.60%. While the only losers on the index were Dr Reddy’s Labs down by 0.66%, NTPC 0.60% and IndusInd Bank 0.43%.

The top gainers on the Nifty were Ultratech Cement up by 4.08%, Eicher Motors 2.92%, Mahindra & Mahindra by 2.92%, HDFC by 2.90% and Larsen & Toubro by 2.86%. While the top losers were Apollo Hospital Ent. down by 1.25%, Dr. Reddy’s Lab 0.73%, Tata Steel 0.49%, Britannia Industries 0.37% and NTPC 0.34%.
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, Indian Bank, Eicher Motors Limited, Mahindra and Mahindra and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited hit their 52-week high on Monday.

Tracxn Technologies Limited, Gland Pharma Limited, Delhivery Limited, Piramal Pharma Limited, and Dhampur Sugar Mills Limited touched a 52-week low on Monday.
FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd (Nykaa), Mahindra and Mahindra, HDFC Limited, Larsen & Toubro and Ambuja Cement were the most active equities on NSE.

The top volume gainers were Ponni Sugars (Erode) Limited, Mittal Life Style Limited, Cholamandalam Financial Holdings Limited, Swan Energy Limited, and Biofil Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited.
FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd (Nykaa), Dhani Services Limited, Biofil Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited, Visesh Infotecnics Limited and Oriental Trimex Limited hit their upper price band.

Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited, Aakash Exploration Services Limited, DC Infotech and Communication Limited, Akshar Spintex Limited, and Alps Industries Limited hit their lower price band. A total of 86 securities hit the upper price band, 65 securities hit the lower band and 27 securities hit both the upper and lower bands on October 31, 2022.
