The Sensex fell 843.79 points or 1.46% to 57,147.32 while the Nifty was down by 257.45 points or 1.49% to end at 16,983.55 at the close of trading on Tuesday.

The Sensex moved in a high and low band of 58,027.52 and 57,050.40. There were 2 stocks advancing against 28 stocks declining on the index.

The Nifty traded in a range of 17,261.80 and 16,950.30. There were 3 stocks advancing against 47 stocks declining on the index.

The broader indices ended in red; the BSE Mid cap index was down 1.61%, while the Small cap index fell 1.47%. The top losing sectoral indices on the BSE were Realty by 3.07%, Metal by 3.04%, Telcom by 2.45%, IT by 2.12% and TECK by 2.11%, while there were no gaining sectoral indices on the BSE. 

The top gainers on the Sensex were Axis Bank by 1.15% and Asian Paints by 0.68%. Whereas IndusInd Bank was down by 3.70%, Nestle was down by 3.13%, Tata Steel was down by 2.86%, Infosys was down by 2.65% and HCL Technologies was down by 2.47%.

The top gainers on Nifty were Axis Bank by 1.05%, Adani Enterprises by 0.85% and Asian Paints by 0.48%.  Whereas Divi’s Lab was down by 5.05%, JSW Steel was down by 3.84%, IndusInd Bank was down by 3.76%, Eicher Motors was down by 3.50% and Nestle was down by 3.11%.

Zenith Exports Limited, Omax Autos Limited, Everest Industries Limited, Jindal Drilling And Industries Limited, and Liberty Shoes Limited hit their 52-week high on Tuesday.

Akshar Spintex Limited, Fino Payments Bank Limited, Tips Films Limited, SVP GLOBAL TEXTILES Limited, Intellect Design Arena Limited, Biocon Limited, and Mastek Limited touched a 52-week low on Tuesday.

India Cements Limited, Divi’s Laboratories Limited, Zomato Ltd, Vedanta Ltd, and IndusInd Bank Ltd were the most active equities on NSE.

The top volume gainers were Panacea Biotec Limited, Invesco India Nifty Exchange Traded Fund, Zenith Exports Limited, V.S.T Tillers Tractors Limited, and Dev Information Technology Limited.

Panacea Biotec Limited, Ram Ratna Wires Limited, United Polyfab Limited, Zenith Exports Limited and AgriTech (India) Limited hit their upper price band.

Akshar Spintex Limited, GTL Infrastructure Limited, Khandwala Securities Limited, ABM International Limited, and Asian Hotels (East) Limited hit their lower price band. There were 63 securities that hit the upper band while 56 hit the lower band on October 11, 2022.
