BSE Sensex jumped 776.72 points or 1.37% to close at
57,356.61. During the day, it surged 862.35 points or 1.52% to 57,442.24.

The broader NSE Nifty rallied 246.85 points or 1.46% to
finish at 17,200.80. BSE midcap and smallcap indices grew 0.7-1.5%. All the
sectors settled in the green with auto, realty and power indices up 2-3%.

Tata Motors: Shares of the carmaker surged 2.33% to close
at Rs 435.05 after the company announced a partnership with Lithium Urban
Technologies to deploy 5000 XPRES T Electric Sedans, across the country, for
employee transportation. Lithium Urban Technologies is an EV-based urban
transportation provider.

Mahindra CIE Automotive: Shares of the auto component
supplier jumped 13.47% to close at Rs 225.70 after the company reported solid
earnings for the March 2022 quarter.

Atul Limited: Shares of the company settled 4.96% lower
at Rs 9,310.00 on disappointing quarterly reports. The chemical firm’s net
profit declined by 22% to Rs 136.3 crore in the reported quarter from Rs 175
crore in the March quarter of the preceding year. EBITDA was 19.35% down at Rs
205.2 crore compared to Rs 254.3 crore in the year-ago period. In the fourth
quarter of fiscal 2022, the EBITDA margin stood at 15% against 22.8% in the
March 2021 quarter.

Tata Teleservices: The share jumped 4.99% to close at Rs
167.30 after the company reported a net loss of Rs 280.6 crore in the March
2022 quarter compared to a loss of Rs 302.3 crore in the previous quarter.
Revenue from operations declined 4% to Rs 272.8 crore against Rs 284.2 crore in
December 2021.

HDFC Life Insurance Company: The stock ended 1.65% higher
at Rs 548.90 after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 506.2
crore in the March quarter of fiscal 2022 against Rs 319.1 crore in the same
quarter of the previous year. The company’s Value of New Business (VNB) stood
at Rs 895 crore and the VNB margin was 29.3%.
