The BSE Sensex jumped 427.49 points or 0.80% to close at 54,178.48. During the day, it rallied 503.82 points or 0.93% to 54,254.79. The NSE Nifty gained 143.10 points or 0.89% to close at 16,132.90.

The broader indices ended in green with the BSE Mid cap index rising 1.19%, while the Small cap index was up by 1.30%. On the sectoral front, Metal was up by 4.49%, Consumer Durables up by 3.24%, Realty up by 2.55%, Basic Materials up by 2.22%, and Capital Goods up by 2.01%, while there were no losing sectoral indices on the BSE.

Titan Company: The stock surged 5.78% to close at Rs 2,129.95 after the watch to jewelry maker reported a 205% year-on-year jump in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2023 given the low base and strong growth in all segments such as jewelry, watches, wearables, eye care, and other businesses.

FSN E-Commerce: The parent company of Nykaa jumped 3.64% to close at Rs 1,453.20 after the company said it expanded into men’s innerwear and athleisure category with GLOOT.

Power Grid Corp: The share price rose 1.09% to settle at Rs 212.75 after the company board approved the expansion of the transmission network in Gujarat to increase ATC from ISTS: Part B at an estimated cost of Rs 4,546.26 crore. The work has to be commissioned by June 2023.

Sobha Limited: The stock ended 10.16% higher at Rs 643.00 after the company said it achieved its highest ever quarterly sales volume during the April-June 2022 period. The company said total sales value was at Rs 1145 crore during the quarter, up 67.7% year on year. Selling volume at 1.36 million square feet was up by 51.7% year on year.

Titagarh Wagons: The share price rose 4.16% to settle at Rs 122.60 after HDFC Asset Management Company sold a 2.15% stake, or 25.7 lakh shares in the company through open market transactions. With this, HDFC AMC has reduced its stake in the company to 7.02% from 9.17% earlier.
