US President Joe Biden is
“treating the American public like fools”, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said as he
slammed 79-year-old Democrat for overlooking the electric car maker in a recent meeting
with business leaders.

The President
met with executives of General Motors, Ford, Microsoft and other business
leaders to discuss his administration’s $2 trillion economic agenda or the Build
Back Better legislation. According to reports, Tesla – one of the leading electric
vehicle manufacturers – is not happy about being left out.

Following
the meeting, Biden took to Twitter to talk about the future of electric cars in
America, but did not mention Tesla. “I meant it when I said the future was
going to be made right here in America. Companies like GM and Ford are building
more electric vehicles here at home than ever before,” he said in a tweet.

Responding
to the tweet, Musk spelled out Tesla in all caps. “Starts with a T, Ends with an
A, ESL in the middle,” Musk wrote in the comments section of Biden’s tweet.

“He is
treating the American public like fools,” the billionaire said in another tweet.
“Biden is a damp ? puppet in human form.”

This is not
the first time Musk has criticised Biden. The SpaceX founder accused the Biden
administration of being “a little biased” and said it “seems to be” controlled
by unions.

Meanwhile, in
his meeting with the top executives on Wednesday, emphasized the benefits from
spending more on climate issues, manufacturing and child care. “A lot of folks
refer to this as just social spending,” Biden said. “Well, I see it this way:
The Build Back Better plan lowers prices for families and gets people working.”

unclear when Congress will move to take up Biden’s plans, after West Virginia
