Taiwan’s wealthiest individual, with a total valuation of
around $13.8 billion, is Zhang Congyuan, a shoemaker with relatively little
fame, as per a report by Taiwan News referring to the latest list published by
Forbes. Owners of the Huali Industrial Group, Zhang and his family reportedly
make shoes for global brands such as Nike, Puma, Vans and UGC.
The rise to the top for Zhang, however, was connected to the
organisation being listed in a stock exchange in Shenzhen, China.
