The 30-scrip BSE Sensex ended 1,545.67 points or 2.62% lower at 57,491.51 while NSE Nifty slumped 468.05 points or 2.66% to 17,149.10. All sectoral indices ended in the red including auto, IT, metal, pharma, power, FMCG, realty, and capital goods down 2-6%. BSE midcap and smallcap indices fell 4% each.

Zomato Ltd: The food delivery platform’s stock dropped by 19.97% or 22.70 points to close at Rs 90.95. Zomato shares fell to a 52-week low and slipped into double digits for the first time since making a strong opening in July 2021. The fifth straight session of losses wiped out around Rs 26,000 crore of investor wealth.

One97 Communications: Paytm owner One97 Communication’s share slipped 4.43% to close at Rs 916.00. It slipped more than 8% to a record low on Monday. The stock fell below the Rs 900-mark for the first time since its listing in November 2021. The share has lost almost 60% of its value compared to the issue price of Rs 2,150.

Reliance Industries: The stock price fell 3.95% to close at Rs 2,379.90 after billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led conglomerate reported a net profit of Rs 20,539 crore in the third quarter of 2021-22, up 37.9 percent year-on-year as all business verticals saw strong growth.

Cipla: The stock surged by 2.86% to close at Rs 892.30% after global brokerage Credit Suisse upgraded Cipla to ‘outperform’ from a ‘neutral’ rating. It also increased the target price of the share from Rs 910 to Rs 1,150. According to Credit Suisse, the market is underestimating the strength of Cipla’s consumer wellness franchise and the increasing sales mix of injectables and respiratory products in the US.

Vodafone Idea: The telecom stock dropped by 7.59% to close Rs 10.95 after the reported consolidated net loss of Rs 7,230.9 in Q3FY22 and a 3.3% increase in revenue. The quarter results disappointed the market.

ICICI Bank: The stock price dropped 0.80% to close at Rs 798.20 despite reporting over 25% growth in net profit for Q3FY22, to Rs 6,193.81 crore from Rs 4,939.59 crore in the year-ago period. Net interest income (NII) increased by 23.44% to Rs 12,236.04 crore from Rs 9,912.46 crore last year. Other income grew 6.42% to Rs 4,987.07 crore.
