The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 435.24 points or 0.72%
lower at 60,176.50. Likewise, the NSE Nifty slipped 96 points or 0.53% to close
at 17,957.40.

From the sectoral indices, FMCG and power indices are up
1-3%, while the bank index is down 1%. BSE midcap and smallcap indices went up
1% each.

trading session:

Tata Power: The stock jumped 8.73% to close at Rs 273.95
after its wholly-owned subsidiary Tata Power Solar Systems acquired a 160MW AC
solar project at Jetstar, Rajasthan.

Zomato: The share of the online food delivery platform
slipped 2.90% down to Rs 83.75 after it came under scrutiny by the competition
watchdog CCI. According to Zomato, the Competition Commission of India has no
concerns regarding its independence on levying commissions or alleged bundling
of services, but the commission is investigating aspects such as the
preferential listing of restaurant partners and pricing parity.

Tata Motors: Shares of the automaker closed 2.36% higher at Rs 457.30 after the company’s Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) UK sales came in at 9,173 units in March as against 1,253 units in February. Meanwhile, Tata Motors JLR UK had reported 18,966 units in the corresponding period last year.

KEC International: The stock closed 3.83% higher at Rs
403.50 after the firm secured new orders of Rs 945 crore across its various
businesses.

Max Healthcare: The stock price gained 4.06% to close at
Rs 368.90 after SBI Funds Management through several funds increased
shareholding in the company to over 9%. “SBI Mutual Fund, under its
various schemes, has purchased more than 1 crore equity shares of the company,
representing 1.03% of paid-up equity, on March 31, 2022,” said the company
in its BSE filing, quoting SBI Funds Management.
