Call of Duty: Vanguard, the franchise title, will not be released until November this year, but Sony PlayStation players will have a chance to try out the game before then. The multi-player building for the Call of Duty Vanguard's Champion's Hill will be available on August 27 for PS4 players.
The two-day alpha event, which will begin on August 27 and end on August 29, will focus on Champion Hill's multiplayer mode and they also allows players to compete in duos or trios. Gameplay will include a life-based approach where your team will come out when you have lost your lives.
The mode will also include an in-game economy programme, similar to the Counter Strike series. Players will start with the same loading but can earn money in each round and get more weapons and other benefits. Money can be earned by finding and killing items scattered throughout the map.
Call of Duty Vanguard will also occur on one large map, which will be divided into five smaller sections. This includes the central shopping center and four other regions called Airstrip, Trainyard, Market and courtyard.
The size of these regions will be similar to that of the Gunfight map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Finished teams will also be able to watch the entire game from a shopping center location.
The alpha build will only be available for PlayStation players, but will be open to all PS4 and PS5 users. In an official announcement it was stated that the PlayStation players will not need to pre-order the game, and Sony even announced that players in most countries would not even need PlayStation Plus to participate.
However, PS4 and PS5 players in Germany will need a PlayStation Plus registration due to the age limitation for the game, and fees will be applicable for PS4 and PS5 players in Japan.
