Delhi Crime, a Netflix show based on the infamous Delhi rape incident which occurred in 2012, won the award at the 48th International Emmy Awards on Monday.
The announcement was made via a video link and the award was accepted –also via a video link—by the series director Richie Mehta, who thanked members of the cast and crew for the show.
Shah couldn’t hide her jubilation at the announcement and screamed “oh my god”.
The series was commissioned for a second season right after the first one was aired.
According to its makers, the show will take the form of an anthology series with the depiction of a new crime every season.
