England fast bowler Jofra Archer is in the news once again for his social media exploits, having predicted the Indian Premier League's shifting to the UAE in a six-year-old tweet. "Have to go to Dubai," the 26-year-old tweeted on April 26, 2015, which the Rajasthan Royals retweeted on Sunday with the caption "You know it, Jof".
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Saturday that the remainder of IPL 2021 would be played in the UAE due to the monsoon seasons during September-October in India. The IPL was paused abruptly in April by virtue of growing concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Archer was initially ruled out of IPL 2021 due to an injury he had sustained before the start of the tournament. He is in the process of recovery.
