Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Monday said that the upcoming Class 10, 12, NEET 2021 and JEE Main exams will only be based on the reduced syllabus announced in 2020 keeping in mind the coronavirus outbreak, according to various media reports.

The minister said this while addressing a webinar with students and faculty of the Kendriya Vidyalaya across the country. He had recently announced that CBSE Class 10, 12 board exam will start from May 4 and conclude on June 10, 2021.

“The students will only have to study the revised syllabus for their CBSE board exams and other exams based upon CBSE board syllabus 2021 such as Joint Entrance Examination (JEE 2021) and National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). The questions will only be asked from that portion,” he said.

The students also raised some other questions during the webinar.

They asked the minister to conduct Class 9 and 11 exams online but he decided not to respond directly.

Many students also asked Pohkriyal to postpone JEE Main and NEET 2021, to which the minister replied that it was not easy to postpone these competitive exams in 2021.
