Amid growing demands to cancel the Central Board of Secondary Education exams and a steep surge in COVID-19 cases, the Centre on Wednesday cancelled CBSE Class 10 Board exams and postponed the exams for Class 12. Soon after the announcement, netizens on Twitter started reacting, as some expressed happiness, while some asked whether Class 12 students are “immune to coronavirus.”

The central government said that the result of Class 10 will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Meanwhile, a meeting will be held on June 1 to decide about the dates of the Class 12 examinations.

Last year too Class 10 and 12 exams were curtailed due to the pandemic.

While some people celebrated that the exams have been cancelled and postponed amid COVID-19, some wondered how CBSE took wise decisions.”

“Yesss!!! We effing did it people!!!!!!” a user on Twitter wrote.

Another user said, “#cbseboardexams2021 class 12th exam b cancelled karo sorf [sirf] 10th hi kyu 12th wale student nhi h kya @PMOIndia @cbseindia29.”

Meanwhile, other people also pointed out that the exams of ICSE and state board have still not been cancelled.

Reacting to actor Sonu Sood’s tweet, where he said, “So finally it happened. Congratulations to every student”, a user wrote, “Sir please keep raising voice for other state boards and ICSE too.”

This announcement came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting to discuss the exams in the wake of coronavirus situation in India.
