The University of Delhi will initiate registration processes for
undergraduate courses from Monday, August 2. The last date for applying to
Delhi University is August 31.

DU will open the window to update marks at a later date. “While CBSC,
ISC boards have declared results, there are many state boards that are yet to
announce results. We will provide students the option of updating their marks
at a later stage and a special window will be opened for it,” NDTV quoted a DU
official as saying.

Just like last year, students will not have to choose their course or
college while filling the application form. Once a student fills the DU application
form, they will be eligible for admission to every college and course at Delhi
University, that is if they meet the eligibility criteria.

However, for colleges like St Stephens and Jesus and Mary, students will
have to fill separate application forms for the respective colleges, but only
after they have filled the common form for Delhi University.

Every year, students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
form the largest contingent of student applicants at DU. Last year, nearly 2.85
lakh applicants were from CBSE, followed by 12,000 applicants from the Board of
School Education in Haryana and the Council of Indian School Certificate
Examinations (ISC).

Most DU courses will have “merit-based” admissions. A few courses will
also have entrance tests. The entrance tests will be conducted by the National
Testing Agency (NTA).

For “merit-based” admissions, DU uses the best-of-four calculation for
the preparation of cut-off lists. The university considers the aggregate
percentage of four subjects in which they have scored the highest marks in the
Class 12 examination, including one relevant subject, one language subject and
two subjects from list A.
