JEE Main Exam 2021 for May that was scheduled to be conducted between May 24 and May 28 has been postponed, due to surge in COVID-19 cases in the country, Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Twitter. He added that students are advised to keep visiting the official website of NTA for further updates.

According to the official notice, the registration for the May session should be announced sometime later, and also the updated schedule for the April and May session will be done eventually.

The Education Minister said, “Looking at the present situation of COVID-19 and keeping students safety in mind, JEE (Main) – May 2021 session has been postponed. Students are advised to keep visiting the official website of NTA for further updates”.

The April session was scheduled to take place on April 27, 28, and 30, but was not carried out due to the pandemic. “The rescheduling of April and May sessions will be done subsequently. The registration for the May session will also be announced in a later stage”, read a notice issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Meanwhile, NEET-PG 2021 is also postponed for at least four months as the exams will not be held before August 30. “Students will also be given at least one month of time after announcement of exam before it is conducted. This will make a large number of qualified COVID doctors available”, said PMO in a statement.
