The Joint
Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) has begun the counselling registration process
on Saturday, October 16. The portal for online registration has been opened on their
official website and all the candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2021 and
JEE Advanced are eligible to be a part of the counselling process.

Step-by-step
explanation of the process –

Registration
– The applicant will be able to login on JoSAA’s official website – josaa.nic.in
– with their JEE Main 2021 and JEE Advanced 2021 credentials. They will have to
fill the form with all the necessary details in the given fields.

Choice
filling – Upon successfully registering themselves the students will have to
select their chosen colleges and courses from the available options.

Seat
allotment – A mock allocation list is expected to be released on JoSAA’s portal
on October 22 around 10 AM. The second list is scheduled to be released on
October 24.

The data
will be verified, validated and the students will be allotted seats on October
26 and the results of round 1’s seat allotment will be declared on October 27.

While the
result of second round’s seat allotment will be out on November 1.

As for the
withdrawal of seats, the candidates will be able to partake in the withdrawal
process starting from the second round up until the last round of seat
allocation.

JoSAA has
been set up by the Ministry of Education (erstwhile Ministry of Human
Resources Development). A total of 114 institutes are partaking in this year’s
counselling.

This
includes 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), 31 National Institutes of
Technology (NIT), IIEST Shibpur, 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology
(IIIT) and 33 other government funded institutions.

The list of
documents required for the counselling includes seat allotment letter, admit
card of JEE Main 2021 and JEE Advanced 2021, photo identity card, proof of date
of birth, proof of seat acceptance fee payment, passport size photographs, category
certificate and medical examination report.

Candidates
who qualified for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) will be able to fill their
choices upon declaration of the result.
