The principal of Agra’s prestigious St John’s College lodged an FIR after a circular with the institute’s letterhead surfaced on social media asking female students to compulsorily have at least one boyfriend before this Valentine’s Day.

The letter added that single girls will not be allowed to enter into college premises.

“It is mandatory for all girls to have at least one boyfriend by 14 February. This has been done for security purposes. Single girl will not be allowed to enter into college premises. They’ll have to show a recent picture with their boyfriend. Spread love,” the fake college notice read.

As per the viral image, the letter was issued by a person named Ashish Sharma, associate dean, Academic Affairs at the St John’s College. However, according to the authorities, there is no faculty by that name.

Meanwhile, Professor SP Singh, the principal, said that no such circular was issued by the college and he termed the viral letter as “fake and mischievous”, reported news agency IANS.
