The globally
hit COVID-19 is having side effects on students life in many ways. The education system has also come under its
grip. In
such a situation, keeping in view the future of the children, online education
is being resorted to, but this alternative system is causing all the
distortions.

Children who are glued to
their mobile and laptop screen for a long time are falling prey to many
diseases including insomnia, sadness, heaviness in eyes and irritability.  Along with the body, the mental health of the
children is also affected and they do not feel like studying.

According to the instructions issued by the
American Academy of Pediatrics, children up to five years of age should not use
the screen for more than one hour, while children above six years should also
limit screen time.

Parents should keep a note that their child is
not spending much time on mobile, laptop etc.  The report further said that the number of children
and youth suffering from diseases like insomnia, sadness etc. is increasing in
the hospital.

Schools have been advised not to conduct online classes for more
than 30 minutes.  It has also advised to give children
breaks in between.

Due to continuous
teaching for a long time, children are not able to concentrate and they start
wandering.  Parents should pay attention
to the change in the children after noticing it. The continuous screen time affects children’s health.

If the child stays on the screen for more
than four to six hours, then there is a also psychological effect on him.
